Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays, because it’s a celebration of love!

But it doesn’t have to only be a time to focus on romantic love. You don’t need a romantic partner in your life to be complete. But you can and should take opportunities to appreciate all of the relationships that make your life meaningful. One of the coolest ways to do that is by celebrating “Galentine’s Day.”

To quote the iconic Leslie Knope: “What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies.”

I’m a FIRM believer in ladies celebrating ladies, so this year I hosted a Galentine’s Day Brunch for me and my best friend, Sarah. Here are some fun tips and ideas you can use to host your own Galentine’s Day celebration!

Galentine’s Day Brunch Decorations

I kept it fairly simple with decorations, focusing on pink and red florals, nick nacks I found at the dollar store, and lots of hearts everywhere!

I filled up some vases with pink and red flowers from Tom Thumb. I decked out my bookcase with Valentine’s Banners I found in the Target Dollar spot.

I tried to keep many of my decorations functional. I used pink and red bucket containers to hold things like utensils and straws. I found the most perfect heart-shaped plates at Target that looked great sitting out and made us happy while we ate food off of them. I squeezed some napkins into a $1 tin Valentine mailbox.

My biggest splurge were some Valentine pom pom garlands that I found on Amazon for $16. I’ll use them every year, so they were worth the price to me!

Galentine’s Day Brunch Menu

I wanted us to have a decadent feast of carbs and happiness. I had a cereal bar that featured the cutest heart-shaped Cheerios, a toast bar with endless toppings, some cute trays covered in tons of pastries, and topped things off with pink mimosas!

To make the mimosas, I simply combined champagne with strawberry lemonade. I made some heart-shaped ice cubes in a tray and used them to keep the pitcher chilled.

For our toast bar, I used some nice artisan baked bread from Target, and healthier whole grain bread cut into heart shapes with a large cookie cutter. Then I served avocado, peanut butter, Nutella, jam, coconut flakes, and lots of fruit in little heart-shaped bowls. We mixed and matched all sorts of toast combinations.

Sarah found some delicious croissants and scones at Target, so we piled those up on a cute platter and scarfed them down! I also made brownies cut into heart shapes, and used my favorite cupcake recipe to make some little heart-shaped tea cakes. I drizzled them with icing and XO sprinkles.

Happy Galentine’s Day!

We had so much fun laughing, talking, and taking pictures at our Galentine’s Day Brunch. It was quality time that I think we will always treasure!

If you’re looking for a chance to celebrate the ladies in your life, I hope this blog gives you some inspiration. Happy Galentine’s Day!
