May is Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, and the Asian Grub DFW Facebook Group decided to celebrate big with a Bishop Arts Block Party!

Saturday, May 14 more than a dozen Asian-owned food vendors will gather in the parking lots near Krio in Bishop Arts District and sell their snacks from Noon – 6 p.m.

Here are all of the details about this exciting event where you can support Asian local businesses and eat tons of amazing food all in one place!

 

AAPI Heritage Month Block Party Event Details

Where: 7th Street in Bishop Arts District (In the lots adjacent to Krio!)

When: Saturday, May 14, 2022 Noon – 6 PM

What: 16+ Asian-owned food vendors, art vendors, face painting, balloon artists, a satellite bar, live DJs, lion dances and more!

 

AAPI Heritage Month Block Party Vendor Lineup

Krio – Hosting the event during business hours with their full menu available.
Fat Straws – Bringing their signature mochi donuts in Matcha, Black Sesame, Churro, Pandan Coconut, Vietnamese Coffee, and Cookies & Cream.
Fat Ni BBQ – Bringing lamb, pork belly, beef tendon, and bacon enoki mushroom meat skewers.
An Choi – Bringing Vietnamese street food like their pork belly bun.
Sandoitchi – Bringing their Hot Truffle Chicken Katsu Sando and their Shaved Ribeye Sando on their signature fluffy milk bread.
Mamang Lumpia – Bringing lumpia (a Filipino dish similar to egg rolls) filled with pork and veggies. They have used the same recipe for three generations!
Hot Honey Pies – Bringing Neo-Neapolitan pizzas including Lao Sausage Pizza and Pepperoni Pizza with Hot Honey.
Crack Brisket – Bringing their signature smoked beef brisket.
WTF (What To Fry) – Bringing crispy pork belly and nam khao (crispy rice salad with fermented pork sausage).
Sushi Dojo – Bringing inventive sushi variaties.
IGrill Lechon – Bringing lechon, a Filipino roasted pig dish stuffed with lemon grass and roasted with a crispy skin.
Okaeri Cafe – Bringing Japanese favorites like their Okonomi Hottodoggu (classic Japanese hot dog topped with bonito flakes, nori, Japanese mayo, and more) and their Spam Onigirazu (Japanese sandwhich made with fried Spam slices, sushi rice, and nori).
Sharetea – Bringing Strawberry Mojito, Taro with Pudding, and Kiwi Fruit Tea with Jellies.
7 Leaves Cafe – Bringing Mung Bean Milk Tea, Taro Milk Tea, House Coffee, and more.
Beard Papa’s – Bringing their Japanese double-layered cream puffs with choux on the inside and pie crust on the outside. They will have vanilla and strawberry flavored puffs.
Scoop N’ Buns – Bringing Filipino inspired deserts like their ice cream donut sandwhich and halo-halo shaved ice with tropical mix-ins.

AAPI Heritage Month Block Party Parking

While Seventh Street will be blocked off and reserved for the event, you can still park nearby. According to the event website, there will be limited free parking available at Krio’s entrance on Davis Street. There are also free lots and street parking spots throughout Bishop Arts District and a DART Station. Ride sharing or carpooling is recommended for a smooth experience.
