If you are a Rockwall, Wylie, or Rowlett native, then the deliciousness of Chiloso is probably old news to you. But for anyone new to the area or living on the opposite side of the metroplex, you might be missing out on one of the best Mexican food places in DFW.
The Chiloso we visit most often is the original location in Rockwall, TX, at 2455 Ridge Road. Recently the local chain has expanded to several other locations, including Richardson, Southlake, and Denton.
The concept for Chiloso is pretty identical to the popular chain Chipotle. But I would argue that the flavors are much fresher!
Chiloso Price Range: $
Prices are low/average at Chiloso. For example, a single taco is $2.75 during breakfast or $3.95 during lunch/dinner, while a plate of three tacos is $6.50 during breakfast or $11 during lunch/dinner. Toppings are unlimited, and every meal comes with unlimited chips and a variety of dipping sauces.
Chiloso Popular Menu Items
Aside from classic tacos, burritos, and bowls, Chiloso also offers some creative specials. Their grilled avocados dish ($11) is a fan favorite. The tortilla soup ($6) is my go-to source for chicken broth whenever I get sick, and I truly believe it has magical healing powers. Breakfast tacos and burritos are so well-loved, you’ll find a wrap-around line throughout the Rockwall restaurant even early in the morning. And don’t even get me started on the jalapeno ranch sauce. You have not truly lived until you’ve tried it.
My Chiloso Favorites
We frequently visit Chiloso because the service is fast, the ingredients are so fresh, and the prices are very reasonable. Their dishes are all made with quality fajita meat rather than ground beef or shredded chicken, so we usually stick to classic chicken or steak tacos. Having unlimited access to chips and salsa free of charge is a major plus, and have I mentioned the jalapeno ranch? You HAVE to try that ranch.
