I know you… I walked with you Once Upon a Tea!

If you do know me, then you are probably well aware of my afternoon tea obsession. I recently joked to one of my friends that I planned the itinerary for my trip to London around themed teas, and I wasn’t totally kidding!

So naturally I was absolutely delighted to find out that Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas was hosting a magical fairytale afternoon tea this spring. I met up with a couple of my friends for a girls day in our frilliest dresses to indulge in bite-sized decadence in the beautiful Crescent Court Grand Hall. Here’s everything we loved about our Once Upon a Tea experience.

Tea Time Attire

I’ve been waiting months for the perfect opportunity to wear this floral embroidered dress, and I knew this was its time to shine! The deep forrest green fabric and rich, colorful flowers gave me Sleeping Beauty vibes. I also ordered some lace gloves to really lean into the tea attire and be as extra as possible.

Fairytale Afternoon Tea at Hotel Crescent Court

The Crescent Court has such beautiful ornate architecture that really framed the perfect setting for a fancy tea of royal proportions. We strolled through the courtyard gardens into the Grand Hall to find a stunning table set for us and a harpist playing the loveliest live music to set the mood.

Once Upon a Tea

We started off our tea with color-changing champagne! Much like Sleeping Beauty’s gown (Make it pink! Make it blue!) our drinks transformed before our very eyes thanks to Butterfly Pea Tea. Soon our deep blue flutes were a vivid purple that matched their charming sugary rims.

For tea, we could choose between a sweet Black Vanilla Tea and a fruity Passion Fruit Green Tea. We tried both throughout the course of our afternoon, and the earthy sweetness of the Black Vanilla Tea was my favorite!

The menu consisted of three courses: Sandwiches, Scones, and Desserts. Many of these bites were themed around fairytales or Disney movies, like “The Grey Stuff” (a nod to Beauty and the Beast), Pumpkin Scones (Cinderella), Cinnamon Puff Braids (Rapunzel),  Poisoned Apple Mousse (Snow White), and a Chocolate Honey Pot (Winnie the Pooh).

Fairytale Afternoon Tea Mementos

Each guest had a beautiful pink and white fan as a gift at her place setting when we arrived, and we were allowed to take home the cutest little vials of blue and purple raw sugar with a Tinkerbell charm as an additional souvenir. As we gathered up our things, our sweet waitress also handed us mini boxes of gourmet candies too! These little details really added to the ambience and experience.

An Afternoon to Remember

We had the loveliest time wearing whimsical outfits and chatting away over dainty snacks at the Hotel Crescent Court afternoon tea. Next time you have a chance to add a little bit of magic to your day, I hope you take it!
