Charlie’s Burgers & Street Tacos is located in the historic downtown square of Rockwall, Texas. It is locally-owned and operated and the whole menu features fresh, quality ingredients. Visitors can frequently find daily food and drink specials and live music. On good weather days, their front window opens and guests can sit at a fresh-air bar and take in views of the local shops.
Charlie’s Price Range: $$
The prices at Charlie’s are a little bit on the higher side, but not outrageous. Burgers (without any fries) range from $10-12. A single taco ranges from $3-6. Salads are each about $10 without adding meat. Fortunately for residents of the Rockwall area, Charlie’s frequently sends out excellent coupons in the mail. If you live outside of Rockwall, do a quick google search for a coupon before you visit if you want to save a little money!

The burgers at Charlie’s are juicy with plenty of fresh toppings and quality buns. Their tacos each feature unique toppings and sauces that make them an explosion of flavor. Corn chips are made in-house and have a deliciously flaky/crunchy texture. The fried pickles and jalapenos are full of delicious tang and the dipping sauce takes them to another level. Charlie’s also boasts that their elotes (a Mexican cheese made of street corn and cheese) tastes like “crack in a cup.”
My Charlie’s Favorites
Although the prices might seem a little bit high, the portions at Charlie’s are big. I can fill up on two tacos easily, and my husband Austin can fill up on about three. Our go-to meal is to share a big tray of fried pickles and split one Charlie’s Burger. We love to support this local spot and indulge our cravings for burgers at a place that tastes nothing like fast food. We highly recommend it!
