It wouldn’t be a Very Merry UnBirthday without plenty of delicious food! When I decided to host an Alice in Wonderland Party inspired by The Rose Table Disney Dinners series, I knew I wanted to keep things simple while still maximizing the cuteness. I’m still getting comfortable in the kitchen and learning new cooking skills, so I relied on simple recipes that were perfect for a Mad Hatter’s Tea.

Here’s all the Alice in Wonderland party food I served to keep our bellies full and our hearts happy while we celebrated!

Golden Afternoon Punch

Since my visiting guests don’t drink alcohol, I wanted to concoct a fun punch recipe we could sip instead of a cocktail. This would be perfect for a baby shower or children’s party where alcohol wouldn’t traditionally be served.

Ingredients:

-4 Cans of Gingerale

-½ Gallon of White Grape Juice

-Fresh Raspeberries

-Fresh Oranges

You could also substitute the Gignerale for Fresca, or add orange juice for a mimosa taste. The recipe is so simple, variations are easy!

Zesty Pasta Salad

Since tea sandwiches are pretty light, I also mixed up some simple pasta salad so that we would have plenty on our plates. It only has a couple of ingredients, and I was able to make it the night before the party and keep it chilled in the fridge.

Ingredients

-Tricolor Pasta

-Zesty Italian Dressings

-Sliced Black Olives

-Optional: Chopped Green Onions, Chopped Orange Bell Peppers

Mad Hatter's Tea SandwhichesMad Hatter’s Tea Sandwiches

When I was in college, I studied abroad in London for a semester. I think that was when my love for tea sandwiches was born! They are so light and delicious and I could eat them all day. These are simple cucumber dill sandwiches that are sure to be crowd-pleasers.

Ingredients:

-Heart-Shaped Cookie Cutter (This is optional, but so cute!)

-White Bread

-Cream Cheese

-Sliced English Cucumbers

-Fresh Dill (Or dried will work in a pinch!)

-Pinch of Sea Salt

-Pinch of Cracked Black Pepper

Queen of Hearts QuicheQueen of Hearts Quiche

Ok, this “recipe” is totally cheating. I just heated up mini frozen quiches from Costco! I added little heart toothpicks from Dollar Tree to make them festive and pretty. Since I had so much decorating to get done, it was a relief for one of the foods on my menu to be as easy as possible. If this sounds like heresy to you, I fully encourage your cooking creativity! A homemade quiche or another tea sandwich would also be great.

Out of all the Alice in Wonderland party food I made, I am most proud of these Painting the Roses Red Cupcakes! They are strawberry almond cupcakes with homemade almond buttercream frosting, decorated with red food spray to look like the roses painted red in the Queen of Hearts’ garden. The ingredients and instructions for this recipe are a lot more detailed, so you can find the full description in this blog post
