If you’re visiting the Dallas Farmers Market or you just happen to be strolling down Pearl Street, you can’t miss Ruibal’s Plants of Texas. With a store front and long side patio covered in bright multicolored blooms, it makes for a beautiful contrast against the slick Dallas skyscrapers towering nearby.
The History of Ruibal’s Plants
Ruibal’s Plants is the definition of local. With just four locations right here in the Dallas area, the experience at Ruibal’s feels unique. This family-owned mini franchise has humble beginnings that make it even more lovable. According to the website, patriarch Michael Ruibal began selling plants out of an old pickup truck and renting a daily 10×20 space at the Dallas Farmers Market in 1984. Now his dream has become the family business. Michael’s sons Mark and Matt Ruibal now own and operate this Dallas plant empire. The Ruibal family has a 30-acre plant farm with 130 greenhouses full of plants to be sent to their four stores.
What to Love
Ruibal’s Plants has blooms and branches to satisfy every skill level. Whether you are a master gardener on the hunt for a specific plant, or your thumb isn’t quite so green yet and you just want to keep a tiny succulent alive, Ruibal’s has something for you.
Even when we aren’t shopping for plants, we love to browse through the beautiful collection at Ruibal’s. Despite the sweltering Texas heat, their plants always bloom bright and look well-nourished thank to their team of gardeners. They also sell furniture, home accessories, and of course hundreds of pots in a variety of different shapes, sizes, and designs.
Visiting Ruibal’s Plants
The Ruibal’s location we love is located on 601 S Pearl Expwy. Since we frequent the Dallas Farmers Market on the weekends, we always stop by and take a look at the gorgeous plants. (And usually snap a few dozen photos while we’re at it.) The other three Ruibal’s locations are at Lemmon Avenue: 6670 Lemmon Ave, Lakewood: 7219 E. Grand, and Rosemead Market: 3646 Rosemeade Pkwy.
