This fall, my husband Austin and I went on a weekend getaway trip to Austin, TX. We love all of the bright lights, eclectic shops, and delicious eats in the city, but this trip we also wanted to spend some time in the beautiful Texas Hill Country as well. Our stop at Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls was the perfect solution, and it was one of my favorite experiences of the whole trip!

Here’s what to expect in the fall at Sweet Berry Farm.

Pumpkins at Sweet Berry Farm

Picking Pumpkins from the Patch

Sweet Berry Farm is known for its namesake: summer strawberry picking. But in the fall, the farm transforms into an enormous pumpkin patch with every possible variety of gourds. Guests can select their pumpkins and pay by the total weight at the end of their visit. But even if you don’t need to bring any pumpkins home with you, you can take endless pictures in the patch completely for free!

You read that right – admission to Sweet Berry Farm is exactly $0. You can pay for additional treats and activities upon arrival if you choose, but wandering through the pumpkins and visiting the farm animals doesn’t cost anything.

Pumpkin Truck at Sweet Berry Farm

Photo Ops Galore

Throughout the piles of pumpkins for sale, guests will find numerous instagrammable photo ops. There are old pickup truck beds overflowing with pumpkins, a charming white bench, a giant scarecrow cut out, an actual Instagram frame, and more. All of these spots are accentuated by the rolling Texas hills that rise up around Sweet Berry Farm in the distance.

We had a great time hunting for all the beautiful photo spots, and the farm would make a perfect location for special family photos, a surprise proposal, or a pregnancy announcement. The pumpkin possibilities are endless!

Homemade Pumpkin Ice Cream

Fun Fall Festivities

When you’re finished snapping photos amongst the pumpkins, you can enjoy some of the fall activities around the farm. There are goats and horses to feed, two enormous corn mazes to explore, hay rides, pumpkin painting, scarecrow stuffing, and flower picking. Most activities cost under $5 per person. There are also fall snacks for sale at the concession stand, including homemade pumpkin ice cream.

Flower Picking at Sweet Berry Farm

Flower Field Fantasy

Since it was getting close to 90 degrees outside on the day we visited, we decided to skip the corn mazes (even though one of them is actually shaped like Texas, which is amazing!). But we decided we did want experience flower picking from the fields across the road from the pumpkin patch. It made for a memorable experience for sure!

For just $5 the Sweet Berry Farm staff will hand you a pair of scissors and a collapsible vase. Your vase serves as admission to the flower fields, and you can fill it up with as many flowers as it can carry.

The sturdy fall zinnias fit snugly into the vase and you can easily bring home a whole beautiful bouquet! Picking and cutting the flowers you want is the best part. Plus, the flower fields make yet another perfect photo op.

Fall at Sweet Berry Farm

We loved our time at Sweet Berry Farm so much, we promised to make the 3.5-hour drive from Dallas again next year! If you’re looking for a fun, affordable, and beautiful pumpkin patch in the Austin, TX area, keep driving until you reach the Marble Falls city limits and stop when you see endless pumpkins.
