October is shaping up to be a very big month for ACOTAR fans in North Texas.
The sixth book in Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses series, A Court of Splintered Harmony, is arriving this fall, and local bookstores and event spaces are going all-out with ACOTAR 6 midnight release parties.
We’re talking Court assignments, costume contests, themed cocktails, DJs, photo booths, trivia, Valkyrie bracelet making, permanent jewelry, cosplay, scavenger hunts and, of course, the chance to get your hands on your copy of A Court of Splintered Harmony as soon as it officially releases.
Several of these events take place on the night of October 26 leading into the October 27 release, while others have slightly different schedules or release-day celebrations.

The Cauldron & The Quill: Bibliobar ACOTAR 6 Midnight Release Party

Bibliobar is going all-in for the release of A Court of Splintered Harmony with The Cauldron & The Quill, a two-part celebration that combines a rooftop party with a midnight release at Bibliobar’s new storefront.
The evening begins at 8 p.m. at the rooftop event space at 1000 14th Street #400 in Plano. The first portion of the celebration runs until 11 p.m., when guests will make the short walk to Bibliobar’s new location at 1024 E. 15th Street for the midnight countdown and book pickup.
A $100+ ticket includes a gift bag and your copy of A Court of Splintered Harmony, along with a packed evening of fandom activities.
Guests can participate in ACOTAR trivia, a costume contest, conspiracy theories and fandom fun hosted in collaboration with the Reading After Bedtime podcast. There will also be games, archery, sword fighting, photo opportunities, snacks and a cash bar.
Bookish merchandise will be available for shopping, and flash tattoos will be offered for an additional cost.
This is an 18+ event, and every guest needs their own ticket. Tickets are non-refundable.
One important detail: books cannot be distributed early. Guests will walk to the bookstore at 11 p.m., with copies of A Court of Splintered Harmony officially released when the clock strikes midnight.
Blush Bookstore: Up All Night Court
432 W. Eighth St., Dallas

Blush Bookstore is transforming its Dallas location into a Starfall-meets-Valkyrie sleepover party for the release of A Court of Splintered Harmony.
The Up All Night Court Midnight Release Party begins at 8 p.m. and runs through midnight, when guests will receive their hardcover copy of the new ACOTAR book.
The $100 ticket includes the book as well as a spread of themed food and drinks throughout the evening.
Activities include Valkyrie bracelet making, Blush’s “unhinged theory board” and other ACOTAR-inspired activities.
Guests will also receive an exclusive Blush tote bag valued at $32, and the bookstore will go all-out with themed decorations and photo opportunities.

A Twisted Midnight: Book Release Ball

If you want your ACOTAR 6 release celebration to feel more like a glamorous night out than a traditional bookstore event, A Twisted Midnight is bringing a full release ball to Denton.
The event is hosted by The Plot Twist Book Bar and takes place at Monroe Pearson from 9 p.m. until midnight and promises a night of Velaris-inspired magic, romance and fandom fun surrounding the release of A Court of Splintered Harmony.
Guests will have access to an open bar, merch vendors, a live podcast with Talk Wordy, trivia with Hot Allen Trivia, a live DJ, photo booths, a cosplay contest, gift bags, crafts, activities and food.
You’re encouraged to dress in your best Prythian-inspired attire, with wings and gowns especially welcome.
There’s also a special appearance by Steven Walker as Cassian, adding another fun element for fans.
Tickets are required, but the book is not included. If you want to pick up your copy at midnight through the event, you’ll need to preorder it separately.
Because of the open bar, this event is 21+. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
ACOTAR 6 Midnight Release Party at Alabaster Hall

Always Booked and Talking Animals Books are teaming up for an elaborate ACOTAR 6 release party at Alabaster Hall in Hurst.
The $145 event is designed as an all-out celebration, with a coffee bar, dessert table, savory snacks, Court assignments, interactive games, trivia, a costume contest, raffles, a live DJ and a balloon drop at midnight.
Guests receive their copy of A Court of Splintered Harmony at midnight, and optional flash tattoos and piercings are also available for anyone who wants to add a more permanent souvenir to their evening.
Tickets were $145 and sales closed September 15, so this one is currently sold out. It’s still worth knowing about in case additional tickets become available or you’re already registered.
Starlight Court Soiree: ACOTAR Book 6 Release Fantasy Ball

For an evening focused on the romantic and glamorous side of Prythian, the Starlight Court Soiree is turning the White Room in Pantego into a fantasy-inspired celebration for the release of A Court of Splintered Harmony.

Folklore Grove

If an elaborate ball isn’t really your thing, Folklore Grove is offering something much more relaxed with a House of Wind slumber-party-inspired ACOTAR release celebration.
The $60 ticket includes a copy of A Court of Splintered Harmony, and the organizers describe the event as an evening for fans who want to hang out with their Valkyrie besties in a more laid-back environment.
There will be a cash/card bar and plenty of activities throughout the evening.
And perhaps the best part? Pajamas are welcome. You can come dressed in costume or your comfiest PJs—both are encouraged.
Tickets are described as very limited because of the venue’s capacity. Proceeds will help Folklore Grove rebuild after their devastating fire this summer.
